Frequently Asked Questions.
Managed VPS
Q. What is a VPS?
A.
VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosts are comprised of several isolated server environments hosted on one larger partitioned server. A VPS functions essentially as it's own standalone server since each user will have root and full control over everything running on their environment.
As far as support goes, it will essentially be handled the same way we handle our dedicated servers. cPanel clients will have fully managed support and clients who do not choose a control panel will have limited support (i.e. hardware, major operating system issues, etc.).
Q. How to Access Virtuozzo Power Panel?
A.
To access the Virtuozzo Power Panel, go to the following URL https://(SERVER_IP_HERE):4643.
Login with the user root (root is the Linux super user), and the password sent to you in your welcome e-mail.
Q. What is Virtuozzo?
A. Virtuozzo is a proprietary system & control panel to host VPS's much like WHM/cPanel is used for shared/reseller hosting. It will provide us on the administrative side with a control panel and will also provide the users with a more limited set of functions on their own "Power Panel".
Q. What kind of servers are you using for VPS?
A. All our VPS servers have below minimum Configuration.
- Dual Nehalem Quad Core CPU's @ 2.26ghz per core w/hyperthreading
- 24GB DDR3 RAM w/ECC
- 1.5TB RAID 10 (6 drives)
Reseller Web Hosting Plans
Q. Where are your VPS servers hosted?
A. Our VPS servers are in ThePlanet located in Dallas, USA.
Q. VPS automatic updates?
A. Your cPanel updates automatically. We do kernel updates for the server when they are needed, not just for one account, and we are proactive about it.
Q. What guarantees come with a VPS account?
A. We provide a Gigabit uplink with a guaranteed 20mbit connection.
Q. How many clients will be hosted on a single VPS server?
A. This will vary highly depending upon the weighting system which we use to ensure that servers are not oversold. Don't worry! We will provide you with a nice, stable environment to house your VPS's.
Q. How to view bandwidth usage for VPS?
A. To view your bandwidth usage on your VPS, login to your Virtuozzo Power Panel.
Once you are logged in, on the left side under the "Logs" tab, click "Traffic Log". The traffic log shows daily, monthly, and yearly bandwidth stats. At the very bottom of the page, you will see the total bandwidth used.
Q. Should I go with a VPS or Dedicated Server?
A.This really depends. If the site is newer or is currently on a shared environment, the next natural step is to a VPS. If the site needs its own dedicated environment, it's always possible to upgrade from VPS to a dedicated server once the traffic warrants it.
With a dedicated server you will have full use of the entire server. A VPS is still a shared solution (albeit one with much more flexibility) and resources are shared with other VPS's hosted on the server.
Q. How long does it take to setup my VPS?
A. Your account will be setup automatically within 5 hours of ordering.
Q. Where can I view your VPS Terms and Conditions?
A. You can View our VPS Terms and Conditions Here.
